Scarborough police lead three escaped alpacas down the road behind a patrol car
Scarborough police in Maine found three escaped alpacas wandering Scottow Hill Road, wrangled them into a fluffy convoy behind a patrol car, then had to ask the public who owned them.

On Monday morning in Scarborough, Maine, the unusual suspects had long necks and very little interest in answering questions.
UPI reports that Scarborough Police found three escaped alpacas wandering Scottow Hill Road near Two Rod Road. Officers managed to wrangle the trio and shared a photo of them being led down the street behind a police vehicle – a fluffy convoy that would not look out of place in a children’s book.

At first, nobody knew whose alpacas they were. Police put the word out and asked for help identifying the owners, NEWS CENTER Maine reported. By about 10:15am, the animals were back home.

NEWS CENTER Maine headed the tale “Alpaca my bags” – and fair enough. Three fluffballs, one patrol car, a quick public appeal, and home in time for elevenses. Not a bad morning’s work for Maine’s least conventional traffic stop.
