Louisville library hit by Ocean's Three candy heist – raccoon, opossum and squirrel
A raccoon, an opossum and a squirrel – dubbed the Ocean's Three crew – dug into Halloween sweets meant for a children's event at Louisville Free Public Library's main garage. The library bought more sweets for the kids.

Forget diamond vaults. In Louisville, Kentucky, the score was a bag of Halloween sweets.
According to WHAS11 and WDRB (6 Nov 2026), Louisville Free Public Library posted garage CCTV of a raccoon, an opossum and a squirrel lifting sweets meant for a children’s programme at the main branch.

The library nicknamed them the “Ocean’s Three” crew and said the little bandits “somehow dug their way into a delivery of sweet treats”. Wrappers and sweets were left strewn around the garage and loading area. A spokesperson stressed that no animals entered the library building itself.

The thieves got away with the loot, but staff bought more sweets so the kids’ event could go ahead. “These little bandits may be cute, but they’re clearly up to no good,” the library posted.

If your local library ever goes short on Halloween treats, check the car park cameras before you blame the humans.
