Alleged drink-driver hits a Lamborghini, then gets pulled over eating a Chinese takeaway – with cutlery

Police in Bicester say a driver crashed into a Lamborghini, then was found driving in the middle of the road nearby, tucking into a Chinese takeaway with cutlery.

Of all the cars in Bicester to bump into, it had to be the Lamborghini.

Thames Valley Police say a driver crashed into the Italian supercar on Queen Street in the Oxfordshire town on Saturday. The two drivers started swapping details like grown-ups, until the Lamborghini driver noticed the other man appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and called the police.

Officers soon found him driving nearby in the “middle of the road”. And when they pulled him over, he was busy eating a Chinese takeaway. Not with his fingers, either: police made a point of saying he was using cutlery.

He was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a roadside breath test came back over the limit. In custody he then refused to give further samples, and he has been charged with failing to provide a specimen.

Police haven’t said what he ordered. Either way, the lesson is the same: if you’ve had a drink, leave the car at home – and maybe eat at the table.
