Deputy pulls over a speeding zombie – then lets him off because he 'cannot legally give a ticket to someone who is not alive'

A Florida sheriff's deputy stopped a driver dressed as a zombie doing 48mph in a 30mph zone on Halloween night, then let him off with a warning – and some advice about brains.

Most people who get pulled over for speeding have a decent excuse ready. This driver had a better one: he was technically dead.

On Halloween night, a deputy from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office in Florida stopped a car doing 48mph in a 30mph zone. Behind the wheel was a man dressed as a zombie. The whole thing was caught on the deputy’s body camera.

“You are the fastest zombie on the roadway,” the deputy told him. “Is there a collection of brains you’re attempting to get to?”

The driver, to his credit, was honest about his look, admitting his zombie costume “came out terrible”.

Then came the verdict. “Since I cannot legally give a ticket to someone who is not alive,” the deputy joked, the undead motorist would get only a warning.

He was sent on his way with two requests: slow down, and “don’t eat any brains tonight”.
